Let’s continue what’s working

It's time to look at what is working to discover how we need to change to make our society better in the future.
They say the CARES Act has worked in giving people enough money to buy food and pay the rent. Let's continue that so at least people's basics are taken care of during a pandemic.
But now they want to take that away, partly because some people are getting more than what they would get as a salary. It will prevent people from going back to work - but there is no work.
And what does all this really say - how about 'Our salaries are too low.”
Doesn't it seem reasonable to make sure people have food and a place to live? Especially when we do not have work? And especially when we want people to buy the things that we go back to work to make?
Let's see if we can't make all this work out better when we do get back to normal. Let us guarantee a basic income to cover housing and food. And let us offer a good salary to encourage work.
