J.P. Claussen is my pick for the Iowa City school board election.
We need someone with the experience to guide our district. Claussen's education knowledge is unmatched in this race. A West High special education teacher for 10 years, he knows the district, the families and how to assure a great education for every student.
We need a strong, collaborative leader. Claussen takes the conversation beyond rhetoric about unity. He is invested in schools and neighborhoods throughout our community. He understands how quality schools in every area of the district are critical to our collective success.
We need an advocate for educational justice. Claussen has demonstrated a deep understanding of the need for strength-based approaches that nurture the diversity in our schools. We must focus on creating meaningful opportunities and removing systemic barriers.
His passion for continued learning and his determination to find comprehensive solutions sets him apart.
Join me in voting for him on Tuesday.
