Arlene Marie Barrow, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, in Florida with family after a heartfelt battle with cancer. Celebration of Life services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Brosh Chapel.
Arlene was born May 20, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Harold and Maxine (White) Spores and was the first of seven children. She spent every day trying to be the loving big sister to her siblings that she was. She had a very strong and loving heart for all her family. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 55 years, Tom Barrow.
Arlene is survived by her three children, Kim (Terry) Walztoni of Florida, Marc (Rachael) Barrow of Florida and Tom (Jeanice) Barrow of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Ashley (Zac), Josh (Amber), Justin, Jordan and Meggan; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Blake, Lincoln and Ellie and soon to arrive great-granddaughter, McKenzie; her siblings, Myra, Bud, John, Jerry, Stanley and Bill; as well as many nieces and nephews. The joy of Arlene's life were her grandchildren and fur babies, which would always bring a smile to her face. She will be missed and loved by all who were part of her life.
