Two southeast Iowa City men were arrested Monday night after their home was searched by police.
Jesse L. Hodges, 18, of 2037 Kountry Lane #11, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, distributing to persons under the age of eighteen and gathering for use of drugs.
Officers allegedly found marijuana, packaging material and drug paraphernelia at Hodges' home. Hodges allegedly admitted that he had been using the apartment for the use and distribution of marijuana and that he sold marijuana to an underage City High School student on April 20th, police said.
Ryan G. Africa, 19, of the same address, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and gathering for use of drugs. Africa allegedly admitted to using the apartment for the use of marijuana.
Distributing to persons under the age of eighteen is a class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver is a class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $7,500 fine. Gathering for use of drugs is also a class D felony, punishable by up to one year in prison and a $1,875 fine.
Hodges remained at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday on a $7,500 cash-only bond. Africa was released on his own recognizance.
