Jun. 23, 2016 12:37 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO has endorsed Monica Vernon's bid for the U.S. House in Iowa's 1st District.
'Monica's known for bringing folks together, no matter their background, and getting real results,” said Ken Sagar, president of the federation that represents 50,000 union members and 520 unions across Iowa.
'Right now, Iowans are getting left behind,” he said. 'We know Monica will always do what's right and prioritize Iowa families over partisan politics.”
Vernon, a former Cedar Rapids business owner and City County member, is challenging first-term Republican Rep. Rod Blum, a Dubuque business owner.
