Gayelle B (Hall) Manuel Bowdish, 82, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at Bickford Cottage, Marion. Memorial services: 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, where the family will greet friends for two hours before the service. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa, at a later date.
Gayelle is survived by her husband, Dave Bowdish of Marion; children, Pam (Gaylen) Kray of Monticello, Jeff Manuel of Fredericksburg, Va., and Brad (Patty) Manuel of Olin; son-in-law, Kevin (Melinda) Posekany of Robins; stepson, Michael (Stacy) Bowdish of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Wayne Hall of Anamosa; sisters, Judee (Gary) Johnson of Escondido, Calif., and Ruth Ross of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Lynda Manuel and Diane Posekany.
Gayelle was born Feb. 14, 1934, the daughter of Dillon and Arleta (Berve) Hall in Monticello, Iowa. She graduated from Anamosa High School. Gayelle married Jack Manuel in 1952 and they later divorced. On Feb. 3, 1985, she married David D. Bowdish in Cedar Rapids. Gayelle was an assistant manager at Super Valu Grocery Store in Anamosa for 18 years and a secretary at Murdoch Funeral Home for over 17 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion.
