Vanderlinden, Marilyn Adams
WASHINGTON - Marilyn Adams Vanderlinden, 75, of Washington, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington after a sudden illness. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. There will be an hour of visitation before the services at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.
Marilyn Hall was born April 14, 1935, in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Neva (Logan) Hall. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to DeWayne Adams and from this marriage the couple had five children, Pamela, Donald, Debra, Nancy and Robert. She later married Richard Vanderlinden. Marilyn enjoyed working out in her yard, and putting puzzles together. She was a very proud mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.
Her family includes three daughters, Pam Dresser (Duane) of Anamosa, Deb Adams (Ray McMenomy) of Oxford and Nancy Grubb of Washington; two sons, Don Adams (Diane) of Washington and Bob Adams of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Hall; and sister, Gail Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
