Randy Thomas Taylor, 57, of Clifton, Idaho, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Randy was born in Marengo, Iowa, on Aug. 24, 1960. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1978. He joined the LDS church at age 19 and served a mission to Sendai, Japan. Randy enjoyed his service to the church, especially his favorite calling with the nursery children.
Randy was a kind, loving man and deeply cherished all of his friends and family. Randy worked hard all his life and built a successful business, Nuts for You, in Preston, Idaho.
Randy was a gifted musician who shared his talents with all around him. He especially enjoyed playing bass guitar in his classic rock band, 4th Ryte.
Randy will be missed dearly and his loss leaves a hole in our hearts. Randy leaves behind a loving family and many, many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Katrina; children, Megan (Ben) of Eielson, Alaska, Morgan (Adam) of Hurricane, Utah, and Hunter, Logan and Macy; grandchildren, Charles, Eva and James; mother, Imogene Taylor of Belle Plaine; sister, Shelly (Scott) of Newhall, Iowa, and her children, Kaleb, Alicia and Jacob; and brother, Steve of Preston, and his children, Amanda and Braylin.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Louis Taylor; and little sister, Rhonda.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, at 12:30 p.m. in the Clifton LDS Chapel (170 W 100 N, Clifton). A viewing will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at the church before services. Interment will be in Clifton Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. David Beckstead, FCMC Hospice, Huntsman Cancer Institute, The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Salt Lake City, as well as the many family and friends, who provided countless acts of service over the past few months.
