Morris, Harold R.
Harold R. Morris, 82, of Anamosa, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Willow Gardens in Marion, after a short illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. April 29, 2011, at the American Legion Hall in Quasqueton. The Rev. Kevin Jennings will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia, who is a resident of Willow Gardens; a daughter, Sharon (Karl) Kirkpatrick of Iowa City; a son, Richard of Center Point; two stepsons, Ted (Annette) Allbee of Marion, and Matt Allbee of North Liberty; a brother, Marvin (Beverly) of Quasqueton; and two sisters, Erma (Bill) Lenhart of Hot Springs, Ark., and Carol (Don) Bates of Winchester, Wis.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, John Hall and Jealee (Matt) Hall-Jones; two stepgrandchildren, Jessica and Shawn Allbee; two great-grandchildren, Aspen and Raven Hall; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Joslyn Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Don, Arnold, Eugene and Larry.
Harold was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Buchanan County, the son of Herman and Laura Arnold Morris. He married Marcia D. Peterson on June 16, 1975, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Harold farmed near Walker for most of his life and was an over the road trucker for CRST, retiring from there after more than 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Quasqueton American Legion and proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially the time he spent with his beloved family and many many friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Harold's name.
