Jones, Iola M.
Iola M. Jones, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died early Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2204 26th St. NW, with Brother Harold Andersen officiating. Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West is in charge of arrangements.
Iola is survived by her husband, William Sr.; sons, William Jr. and Brian Jones; daughters, Elida “Dee” Hollopeter and Lisa Gordon; brother, Jerry Robertson, all of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Estella (Duede) Robertson; sisters, Mary Ellen Koenig and Regina Mahnke; and a brother, David “Bud” Robertson.
Iola was born Jan. 26, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. She married William G. Jones Sr. on Nov. 12, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. Iola was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on Dec. 23, 1962. She loved getting together with her family and friends, listening to music and going on vacations to Huntington Beach, Calif., where her best friend lived.
Iola's family wishes to thank Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center and Care Initiatives Hospice for their loving care of Iola.
