Goodwin, Dorothy Ann
Dorothy Ann Goodwin, 69, of 231 S. Moore St., Ottumwa, died 10:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at her home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. David Albert of Living Hope Bible Church officiating. Burial will be in the Floris Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born June 28, 1942, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Edward Herman and Susan Etta (Birch) Hoeppner. She married Glenn Dean Goodwin on Oct. 1, 1966. A resident of Ottumwa since 1993, she had lived in Floris and Bloomfield. She had worked for a convenience store and at the Hotel Ottumwa until 1997.
She enjoyed bowling, playing golf and bingo. She liked the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
Surviving are her husband, Glenn; two sons, David (Amy) Goodwin of Waterloo and Donald (Tracy) Goodwin of Ottumwa; four daughters, Susan (Jeff Lawrence) Akers of Stillwater, Minn., Vicki Anderson of Newton, Kathy (Jess) Trout-Ellsworth of Leighton and Ellen (John Hall) Timmons of Cedar Rapids; 30 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ronald Hoeppner of Minnesota, Jerry Hoeppner, Roger Hoeppner and Tim Hoeppner, all of Waterloo, and Tom (Karen) Hoeppner of New Hartford; and a sister, Patty Hoeppner of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Dick and Jim Hoeppner.
