Robertson, James Milton
James Milton Robertson, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Evergreen Estates Assisted Living. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, by the Rev. David Miller. A visitation will be on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Sumner, Iowa.
Survivors include his children, Michael Robertson of Cedar Rapids, Renee Camblin of Westminster, Colo., and Nicole Robertson of Ely, a grandson, Phillip (Reagan) Robertson, and a great-granddaughter, Annebelle Robertson, both of Arvada, Colo.; a brother, Steven (Barbara) Robertson of Mason, Wis.; cousins, Alan (Debbie) Robertson of Humble, Texas and Elaine (Ron) Koepke of Denver, Iowa; and friend, Jan Basemann of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Sumner, Iowa, the son of Milton and Iva (Meswarb) Robertson. Jim was a machinist for Goss in Cedar Rapids. He loved aviation and was in the process of obtaining his privates pilot's license. Jim liked to do wood carving, watching the TV show, “The American Pickers” and watching NASCAR races, especially Jimmie Johnson.
He will be remembered as a friendly person who liked people.
