WILLIE "WIL" HURD
Solon
Willie "Wil" Hurd, 44, of Solon, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016. Celebration of Life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon, located at 100 S. He was born Willie James Hurd Jr. on Jan. 25, 1972, at Brakenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas, to Willie James and Ruth E. (Moore) Hurd Sr. He graduated from Travis High School in Austin, Texas, and joined the U.S. Army after graduation, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning from duty, he met Rachell N. Swise, and had two daughters. He continued to serve by becoming an employee at the VA Medical Center. Wherever he went he never met a stranger who wouldn't remember his infectious smile. He enjoyed being around people making people smile. He loved to be active in sports: softball, golf, camping, bicycling, and recently riding his motorcycle. And he never missed his Texas Longhorns in any sport. Most of all he loved to spend time with his two girls, Pyeper and Ryelee. They were their Daddy's biggest fans and he was their hero.
Wil is survived by his wife, Rachell of Solon; his daughters, Pyeper and Ryelee Hurd; his parents, Willie and Ruth Hurd Sr. of Austin; his sister, Tuesday M. Hurd of Austin; his nephew, Nefta Fonseca of Austin; and his son, Tristan K. Hurd of Dripping Springs, Texas.
Wil was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Marnette (Mays) Hurd, Lloyd Moore Sr., and Eleanor (Shaw) Moore.
Memorials may be directed to Collins Community Credit Union in care of Wil Hurd and family.
