James J. Klein Jr., of 5481 Wyoming Dr. SW, passed away Nov. 8, 2015. The family invites you to a celebration of life service from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Porky's, 4617 J St. SW, Cedar Rapids. Private graveside services will be at Linwood Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Pearson (David Elliott); three sons, Kevin (Cindy) Klein, Kent (Maggie) Klein and Keith (Kim) Klein, all of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Bill Klein of Cedar Rapids and Robert Klein of Wichita, Kan.; sister, Evelyn Wilkinson of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Klein Sr. and Ruby (Anderson) Klein; his wife, Mary Charlene (Hamilton) Klein, in 1988; son-in-law, Al Pearson in 2006; and brother, Oliver Klein in 2010.
James was born June 24, 1930, in Mount Vernon, Iowa. He married Mary Charlene Hamilton on Jan. 4, 1951. James served in the Air Force from 1947 to 1950. James retired in 1985 from Local 238 Teamsters Union and Local 43 Laborers Union.
