Iowa now can boast its tied for the second-lowest unemployment rate in the country.
The state's unemployment figure was recorded at 44,000 for July - an 18-year low - according to Iowa Workforce Development.
That ties Iowa, at 2.6 percent, with North Dakota.
Hawaii was ranked No. 1 with the lowest unemployment.
'We're unleashing opportunities for Iowans to get training and prepare for rewarding careers through Future Ready Iowa,” Gov. Kim Reynolds said in a prepared statement.
'Our employers hire these skilled workers and grow, making our communities even more prosperous. I want our young people to see the opportunities available to them in Iowa and make our state the home where they live, work and raise families.”
The unemployment numbers do not include those who aren't looking for work, have stopped seeking employment or otherwise have left the system.
