West Branch man gets eight-year sentence for child porn

A West Branch man who had thousands of pictures and videos of child pornography on his computer will spend more than eight years in federal prison.
Timothy Wilker, 43, was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Cedar Rapids to 97 months in prison.
Wilker pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography in January. During that plea, Wilker admitted having more than 8,000 pictures and 275 videos depicting child pornography on his computer.
Once out of prison, Wilker will spend 10 years on supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender.
