Clara Marie Bickel, 81, of Marion, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Linn Manor Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at First Presbyterian Church in Marion, officiated by the Rev. Howard Chapman. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Monday evening at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Clara was born June 17, 1934, in Wyoming, Iowa, to Fred and Fannie (Riches) Fritz. She was united in marriage to Henry C. Bickel on April 22, 1977, in Marion.
Clara had worked as a bookkeeper throughout her professional life, and retired after working at Carma Lou's House of Music for 10 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion and a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming.
Clara volunteered at Helping Hands Mission Project at First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She had fun playing cards, especially euchre and canasta. Clara and Henry looked forward to traveling to Branson, Mo., twice a year for fishing trips.
She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Henry; 13 nieces and nephews; and many great- and great-great- nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Wallace; brother, Frank Fritz; and great-nephew, Faron Michael Fritz.
Memorials in Clara's name may be made to Linn Manor Care Center or First Presbyterian Church.
