Connie Sue Ricklefs, 71, of Anamosa, formerly of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in her home. A private celebration of life will be Friday, May 8, at the Jones County Courthouse in Anamosa. Burial will be private.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond E. Ricklefs; her children, Boyd F. Smith of Vincennes, Ind., Michael T. McCain of Anamosa and Morgan M. Ricklefs of Fort Worth, Texas; stepchildren, Tony Ricklefs of Cedar Rapids and Tina Hankemeier of Anamosa; six grandchildren; a brother, Hugh "Spud" Stout of Oskaloosa; and a sister, Peggy Katko of Eddyville.
She was preceded in death by Hugh and Agnes Stout, Oskaloosa.
Connie Ricklefs was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Aug. 9, 1943. She graduated from the University of Iowa and attended law school at Drake University in Des Moines. After graduation, she moved to Anamosa and started a private law practice. A short time later she was elected to the office of Jones County Attorney and served in that capacity for 23 years until her retirement in 2009.
Connie will always be remembered for her humor and lightning fast wit. She was admired by her peers in the law enforcement community and will be dearly missed by her many friends and her family.
