Ann Marie Goldsmith, 73, of Delhi, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
She was born Jan.12, 1942, in Delhi, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Dunkel) Heims. She was raised and educated in the area, graduating from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1960.
On April 27, 1963, Ann was united in marriage to Darrel "Red" Goldsmith at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville. Three children were born to this union. Together they resided at Delhi.
Ann was a secretary with the Maquoketa Valley school district for 31 years. She also was past secretary for St. John's Parish Council and taught CCD classes. Ann was a longtime member of the Delhi Lions Club, where she served as a former president.
Ann loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, gambling and traveling with Red.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Red; her three children, Mike Goldsmith of Cedar Rapids, Don (Cozette) Goldsmith of Humboldt and Sandy (Sherif) Hemaya of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, James (Sharon) Heims and Gerald (Darlene) Heims, both of Manchester; and a brother-in-law, Loren Salow of Manchester.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Heims: her two sisters, Betty (Loras) Kremer and Irene Salow; and a granddaughter, Sophie Marie Goldsmith.

Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi, with the Rev. John Kremer officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Friends also may call an hour before Mass at the church on Wednesday. Interment: St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Delhi.
