Ferentz’s pay ninth among college football coaches

IOWA CITY - Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz has slid to ninth place in annual compensation among college football coaches, according to a database compiled by the USA Today.
Ferentz, who signed his current contract in 2010, makes $4.075 million this year. That ranks fourth among Big Ten coaches behind Michigan State's Mark Dantonio (second, $5.6 million), Ohio State's Urban Meyer (sixth, $4.48 million), Penn State's James Franklin (eighth, $4.4 million), according to the database.
Alabama Coach Nick Saban was first at $7.16 million. Oklahoma's Bob Stoops ($5.06 million) ranks third, followed by Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin ($5.06 million) and Texas' Charlie Strong ($5 million)
