Part-time mayor, council stall progress

I can't believe that a city of our size is going to progress with a part-time mayor and council. We need people who work to secure a better future rather than a part-time mayor who is a lobbyist for local business and an inept council without much accomplished.
Our streets are pitiful and all we hear about is future commercial businesses that they are trying to lure into our downtown. And as for the downtown pavilion and the Westdale project, I can't believe that they will draw anyone from October to May in their outdoor arena.
I hope someone steps forward from our community who is genuinely committed to serve all Cedar Rapidians.
