Joseph Edwin Burgess, 79, of Olin, passed away July 3, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Joseph's family has granted his wishes of cremation and no services.
Memorials may be given in his honor to his sister, Mary Burgess, at 1119 23rd St. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
Lahey Funeral Home in Olin is assisting the family with their services.
Joseph was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Charles Edwin and Mary Eleanor (Barker) Burgess. He graduated from Olin High School in 1954.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Jean Burgess of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Charles Roger Burgess of Roseville, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce, in 1968.
