To the editor:
'Oh, say can you see,” yes, we will always remain free. 'What so proudly we hailed,” no one will break our will. 'Whose broad stripes and bright stars,” we cherish our freedom by far. 'O'er the rocket's red glare,” we will fearlessly swear to protect our freedoms. 'Our flag was still there.” 'Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,” due to brave men and women that gave, many the ultimate sacrifice. 'O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
My mother said to me as a child to never take freedom for granted because it is gift paid for by the many who fought to keep us a free people.
America remains free because we have faced fear down and will never live in fear. That is who America is!
As I proudly placed my flag outside this Memorial holiday, I paused to remember the brave. I purchased this flag on Sept. 11, 2001. As it gently waved in the cool breezes, the beauty of our cherished flag remains so meaningful. Also, I felt the same sense of deep pride that I do every time our country's song is sung. America's song of freedom.
