Robert A. Magee, 96, of Marion, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Per Bob's request, there will be no service. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery,
Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Margo (Bill) Magee Swim; two grandchildren, Heather (Jamie) Anderson of Denver, Colo., and Michael (Vianey Medina) Swim of Iowa City; and a great-grandson, Jackson Magee Anderson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Craig; and two sisters, Frances and Elizabeth.
Bob was born July 7, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Emma Bingham Magee. He worked as a security guard at Rockwell Collins and retired from there after more than 30 years of service.
Bob was a member of VFW Post 788 and Marion American Legion Post 298, and proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the South Pacific.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Legion, any veteran's organization or to the Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
