Eva Lu Murrison, 98, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Durant, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids.
Eva Lu was born March 8, 1916, near Tipton, Iowa, to Charles and Euta (Belles) Crawford. She attended Cedar County country schools and then Tipton schools, graduating in 1934. She also attended Tipton Junior college after graduation.
Eva Lu married Howard Murrison on May 16, 1937. To this marriage was born their son, Ronald. She and Howard lived in Rock Island, after their marriage and then moved to the family farm in Cedar County. Later they lived on Howard's aunt's farm north of Wilton. After retiring from farming, they moved to Durant. After Howard's death on March 25, 1996, Eva Lu moved to Cottage Grove Place, where she resided for 17 years.
Her family would like to thank Cottage Grove Place for its tender loving care.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church chapel, Cedar Rapids. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Zimmerman of Wheaton, Ill.; grand-daughters, Debbye (Robert) Anderson of Mustang, Okla., and Rhonda (Glenn) Mullin of Downers Grove, Ill.; stepgrandson, Geoffrey Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Jordan and Boyde Anderson and Rory and Liam Mullin; her sister, Patricia Crawford of Cedar Rapids; and her step-brother, Forrest Baker of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ronald; her husband, Howard; sisters, Norene Schilling and Edith Glidden; two sisters in infancy; and her brother, John Crawford.
Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army in her memory.
