CEDAR RAPIDS - Linn County residents can expect to begin seeing a new logo on county letterhead, property and county seal.
The Linn County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday selected the new logo, with a request for some slight modifications.
The logo, designed by Mark Mathis, of Amperage Marketing in Cedar Rapids, includes the Linn County name accompanied by a leaf design.
The county received more than 30 logo submissions from local artists. The board selected the logo without knowing the designers.
When implemented, the new design will replace the county's current logo - which features hills, trees and a river with the Cedar Rapids skyline in the background and has been used by the county since the 1990s.
Linn County Communications Director Joi Alexander said the county is working on an implementation plan for the new logo. An official rollout will be announced in the coming months and implementation is expected to be phased in.
