Kernels lose second straight to Quad Cities, 3-2

DAVENPORT - Jordan Scott's RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning scored the winning run as the Quad Cities River Bandits squeaked past the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 3-2, Friday night at Modern Woodmen Park.
This was the rubber game of a three-game series between the Midwest League Western Division rivals.
The Kernels (80-48 overall) had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the game. Starting pitcher Hudson Boyd (4-5) threw seven good innings but suffered the tough loss.
Adam Brett Walker had three hits and a walk for Cedar Rapids (40-20 second-half record), which opens a three-game home series against Peoria on Saturday night. Bo Altobelli and Max Kepler had RBIs.
