Josephine was born Aug. 28, 1919, in La Porte City to Albert and Mary Pearl (Tooey) Riley. On Dec. 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to Warren N. Geiger in Waterloo. Warren preceded her in death in 1989.
Josephine retired after 26 years from Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.
She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, growing flowers and fishing. She was well known for being able to whip up a delicious meal at a moment's notice. Everyone in her family looked forward to her pot of homemade chicken and noodles simmering on her stove. Her family was her world and meant everything to her.
She is survived by her five grandchildren, Jimmie Geiger of Garrison, Mike (Jodi) Geiger of Vinton, Becky (Tim) Hildenbrand of Cedar Rapids, Susan Smith of Amarillo, Texas, and Devon (Andy) Hyde of London, England; her 12 great-grandchildren, Cody, Curtis, Brandan, Mikayla, Alex, Andy, Chelsea and Chance Geiger, Caleb Colten, Ashley Massingill, Bobbie Jo Hansen and Cheyenne Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Robert, Warren "Allen" and Steven; her grandson, Bobby Geiger; and 11 siblings.
