Haake, Andrew J.
Andrew J. Haake, 34, of Harrisburg, N.C., formerly of Galva, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at the Carolinas Medical Center Northeast of Concord, N.C. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church, Galva, with the Rev. Paul D. Egger officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Galva. Arrangements are with the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Holstein.
Survivors include his wife, Constance; his parents, Leslie and Sharon Haake of Galva; his brother, Douglas Haake and girlfriend Elizabeth Hilkin of Austin, Texas; father-in-law, Father Alexander George of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Carmella Cook of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Jennifer and husband Shawn Geyer and their sons, Colby and Zach, of Berne, Ind., and Alexandra George of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Vincenzo Lloyd of Cedar Rapids; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emery and Arlene Haake and Willis and Monica Tolzin.
Andrew J. Haake was born to Leslie and Sharon Haake on Dec. 13, 1974. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Galva, where he was baptized and confirmed. He graduated from Galva-Holstein High School and then went on to receive his BBA from the University of Iowa. He married Constance Nicole George on Sept. 20, 2008, in Cedar Rapids. Andy worked as a regional distribution manager for Yellow Book USA. Andy was an Iowa Hawkeye basketball fan and loved to watch the Yankees play baseball.
He was a humble and genuine man who treasured his family and friends.
