Elverda Faye Smith, 88, of Central City, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at Manor Care Health Services, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Faith Lutheran Church, 155 Boysen Rd. Marion, IA 52302, by the Rev. John Albertson and the Rev. Amy Waelchli. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Private graveside services: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her children, David (Cheryl) Smith of Central City, Sara (Jim) Johnson of Anoka, Minn., Bob (Connie) Smith of Central City, Barbara Kintzle of Cedar Rapids and James (Tracie) Smith of Center Point; one brother, Dale Schmidt of Baldwin; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Raymond and Neta (Bickford) Schmidt; and two sisters, Mary Rae Rath and Cecilia Schmidt.
Elverda was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Canton, Iowa. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marion.
