Smith, Thomas M.
Thomas M. Smith, 59, of Coralville, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at New Song Episcopal Church, Coralville.
Survivors include his son, Travis (Christopher) Clark-Smith of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Ashley Marie Eppich of New Llano, La.; brothers, Gerald Smith of St. Louis, Mo., and Richard Smith of Joplin, Mo.; and a sister, Kelly Smith of Mesquite, Nev.
Thomas was born Nov. 3, 1952, in Chicago, the son of Richard and Barbara (Rexford) Smith.
Thomas was a very charming man, best known for his sense of humor and devotion to his children, which he often referred to as “two rubber balls, bouncing off the walls, and the room is too small.” He was friendly to everyone he encountered and always left a lasting impression, especially on those who cared for him later in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rexford Smith; and a son-in-law, Robert Eppich.
