I divided a hosta plant this weekend for the following project at Franklin Middle School in Cedar Rapids. If you have hosta you'd like to donate to the cause, or have some extra time on May 19, 2012, here is the information from a Franklin student:
My name is Austin Wu, and I am in 8th grade student at Franklin Middle School. Currently, I am working towards my Eagle rank in Boy Scouts and my project for it is right here at Franklin. My project is to plant hosta plants around the trees on Franklin's grounds to hide the bare spots around the trees. In order to carry out the project, I need your assistance. I would appreciate it if you could donate hosta plants to the project. You can drop off the hosta plants next to Entrance #7(Custodial Entrance) on the North side of the building. We are also looking for volunteers for this project. I am planning for the project to take place on May 19 starting at 9 am. Please bring a shovel and/or a wheel barrow. Thank you for your support.
