Susan Faye Glandorf
died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at her home after a sudden illness at the age of 57 years. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Pastor Gary Sears will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
Susan was born Dec. 19, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Marjean (Halverson) Glandorf. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Conroy and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1970. Susan worked at the Linn County Courthouse for 32 years, retiring in May 2008. She lived in Cedar Rapids for a number of years before moving to Williamsburg in May 2009. Susan enjoyed making greeting cards, doing crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed her retirement and spending time with family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy.
Susan is survived by her parents, Norman and Marjean Glandorf of Williamsburg; two sisters, Brenda Glandorf of Freeport, Ill., and Linda (Orie) Yoder of Williamsburg; a brother, Steven (Rhonda) Glandorf of Parnell; three nieces, Tia (Wade) Samo of Urbandale, Tara Glandorf of Las Vegas and Laura Glandorf of Rock Island, Ill.; and a nephew, Jesse Yoder of Williamsburg.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and one infant brother, Stuart Glandorf.
Memorials are for the Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran Interparish School.
