MARION - Linn County officials invite the public to open house sessions at the county's newest park addition.
Sessions take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the new Red Cedar Lodge at Squaw Creek County Park near Marion.
The roughly $1.5 million lodge at 1700 Bluestem Drive was paid for by Linn County Conservation Capital Improvement Plan funds.
The lodge includes air conditioning, a full kitchen, Americans with Disabilities Act-complaint restrooms and a gas-operated fireplace. It can seat 150 people indoors and up to 200 with outdoor patio space. Other amenities include a catering/service entrance, two outdoor cooking grills and a gravel pad for larger smokers or grills, according to a county news release.
