Candace Zierath, 48, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 18, 2016. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at First Church of the Open Bible, 1911 E Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Peggy; sister, Sondra (Kathy) Dunham; nieces and nephews, Whitney, Courtney, Brittany, Tyler and Kieler; great-nieces, Briella, Alex and Alythia; and great-nephew, Marcus.
Candace is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Neva Baehne and Lloyd and Evelyn Zierath; and cousin, India Esser.
Candace was born on April 26, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, to Robert and Peggy (Baehne) Zierath. Candace was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs. She began her battle with cancer on Oct. 18, 2011, and after five years to the day, she is now at peace.
