Rockford's softball team has found the sweet spot offensively in a number of games so far this season.
The Warriors guided enough of the batted balls to find the gaps in the field or over the fence as Rockford picked up an 8-3 win over Northwood-Kensett Monday in Corn Bowl Conference softball action.
Rockford, which spotted Northwood-Kensett a 2-0 lead through an inning and a half, started cranking out the offense in the bottom of the second, capped by Staci Pump's two run double to complete a three run inning and a 3-2 Rockford lead.
The Warriors kept the offense going in the fourth, tacking on two more runs. Allie Abell had a run scoring single and Pump drove in her third run of the evening with a groundout.
Rockford capped the offense in the fifth with a bang. Steph Cannon started the rally courtesy a 2-run home run to deep centerfield. After an out, Abell launched a Viking pitch over the left field fence.
