Sharp, Linda Kay
Linda Kay Sharp, 60, of 3135 Pebble Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Craig Brown. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Cletus; mother, Majella Flugum of Lake Mills; daughter, Amber Kay Haufle of Cedar Rapids; stepdaughter, Tina Sharp of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Makala Kay, Haley Kay and Carly Kay Haufle; and brothers, Alan (Deanna) Flugum and Scott (Joan) Flugum, both of Lake Mills.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Don Flugum.
Born June 19, 1952, in Forest City, Iowa, Linda was the daughter of Donald and Majella (Schnebly) Flugum. In 1970, she graduated from Lake Mills High School. In 1972, she moved to Cedar Rapids and worked for Evergreen Packaging for 26 years. She was a foster parent for over 20 children. In November 1980, she was united in marriage to Cletus Sharp in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They had 32 wonderful years together.
Linda was a loving and nurturing woman with a kind heart who took pride in spending time with her family and friends. She loved pets and children and was a remarkable mother.
