Karen L. Trimpe, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Dr. Jim Coyle will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Jason (Julie) Nosek of Mount Vernon, Iowa; a daughter, Rebecca Nosek and fiance John Blackcloud of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Cheri Schnieder of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; stepfather, Darrol Syferd of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Keenen Nosek, Aidan Nosek, Brody Nosek and Pierce McCrary. Also surviving is her beloved pet dog, Bentley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandchild, Liam Nosek.
Karen Trimpe was born on Jan. 10, 1947, to Robert Schnieder and Cleo Syferd in Cedar Rapids. She worked at Intermec until her retirement in 2008.
Karen attended First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of T.T.T., Bridge Club and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
