Sevening, Sandra L.

Sandra L. Sevening, 73, of 809 Ninth St. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a wake service will be held at 2 p.m. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

   Survivors include her husband, Ronald; sons, Cary Sevening of Cedar Rapids, Brad (Tracy) Sevening of Mechanicsville and Dr. John (Christy) Sevening of Robins; daughter, Sherri Sevening of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; her sister, Dixie Twiselton of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

   Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jack Peterson.

   Born May 6, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sandra was the daughter of Carl and Nellie (Gallagher) Peterson. On April 11, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ronald Sevening. Sandra was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Sandra's joys were country music, dogs, fishing, crafts and the Chicago Cubs.

   Sandra's family dearly loved her and she will be greatly missed.

   A memorial fund has been established in Sandra's memory.
