Zimmerman, Glen
Glen Zimmerman, 84, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away May 7, 2012, at Sterling Inn, Victorville, Calif., due to a long illness. A celebration of Glen's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Brosh Chapel & The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Glen was born April 22, 1928, in Elm Creek, Neb. He was a resident of Cedar Rapids for 16 years. He retired in 1996 after being a self-employed diesel mechanic for 31 years.
Glen was a member of Cochran's Rodeo, Horseman's Saddle Club and attended Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include his daughters, TeriLynn Wolsten Holmes of Oceanside, Calif., Glenda Taylor of Cedar Rapids and Tina OQuinn of Atallisa; son, Rocky Zimmerman of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Laurie Zimmerman of Victorville, Calif., and Janis (Jonathan) Graybill of Victorville, Calif.; son, Glen Zimmerman Jr. of Los Alamitos, Calif.; sisters, Lois (Oliver) Walkner of Cedar Rapids and Norma Hadrava of Cedar Rapids; brother, Rick (Shirley) Zimmerman of Cedar Rapids; special friend, Lloyd (Donna) Banks of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made in honor of “Glen Zimmerman” to Sunset Hills Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley, CA 92307.
