Barbara Ann Kolsto, 94,
of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at Living Center East in Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Barbara is survived by her son, Larry of Cedar Rapids; brother, Fred (Evelyn) Shelton of Swisher; grandchildren, Kim (Paul) Rieff of Fairfax, Kathy (Chad) Szabo of Cedar Rapids, Dan (Melissa) Kolsto of Cedar Rapids, Kris (Jason) Tapken of Cedar Rapids, Rhoda (Tony) Craig of Phoenix, Ariz., Rene Polton of Brooklyn, Iowa, Rick (Brenda) Houser of Iowa City and Rone Cahow of Malcolm; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Carol; infant son, Jay Allen; granddaughter, Robin; and daughter-in-law, Susan.
Barbara was born March 17, 1922, in Fairfax, Iowa, to Henry and Bessie (Neckwinder) Dloughy. She married Wayne L. Kolsto on April 15, 1939. He passed away in 1996. Barbara worked at Square D for 15 years before retiring in 1964. She formerly attended Hus Presbyterian Church and enjoyed dealing in antiques.
