Stonebridge Church in Cedar Rapids commissioned Melissa Majorins as director of Children's Ministries. Majorins is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute.

Ackley Kopecky & Kingery in Cedar Rapids announced Laura Kamienski (see photo) joined as associate. Kamienski was formerly with White Law Firm.

Syncbak Inc. in Urbana hired Mike Roeder (see photo) as IT architect to build out its cloud-based and remote hosted services. Roeder was formerly senior manager of IT systems delivery with Yellow Book USA.

Promotions

Steve Hinsley (see photo) has been promoted to vice president of training and development with Thomas L. Cardella and Associates in Cedar Rapids. Hinsley had been director of training.

Josh Holst (see photo) was promoted to vice president of information systems with Hills Bank and Trust Co. in Hills. Holst was previously first vice president of information systems-network.

Stacy Meyer (see photo) joined the Acterra Group as the electrical division manager. Meyer has more than 20 years of commercial and industrial electrical experience and will be based in Marion.

Elections

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa Cedar Rapids Chapter elected the following volunteers to committee positions in the local group for 2011-2013: Tammy Tronvold, area committee chairwoman and secretary; Jeff Dockendorf, area committee vice chairman; Sue Patton, wish granting chairwoman; Tim O'Neil, public relations and finance chairman; Ashley Dockendorf, social chairwoman; Tammy Tronvold and Andrea Murphy, gala chairwomen; and Angie Corcoran, 2012 walk chairwoman.

Terry Cooper (see photo), president of specialty energy services company Acterra Group, Marion, was elected vice president of the Petroleum Equipment Institute. Cooper most recently served as PEI'S treasurer.

Mary Junge (see photo), a tax and estate-planning lawyer from Cedar Rapids, was elected as the vice chairwoman of the board of directors of the Iowa Lottery.
