Ellen Marie Prochaska (Bruns), 34, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time. Inurnment: Marengo Cemetery, Marengo.
Survivors include her twin brother, Jonathan Bruns of Cedar Rapids; brother, Michael (CariAnn) Bruns of Cedar Rapids; father, Dan Garoutte of Shellsburg; nephew, Austen Bruns of Cedar Rapids; niece, Courtnie Bruns of Cedar Rapids; a large extended family; and her beloved cat, Jazz.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vickie Garoutte; grandparents; and several other extended family members.
Ellen was born on May 28, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Dan and Vickie Garoutte (Ealy). She graduated from Metro High School. Ellen worked for AEGON, Alliant and MCI. She then graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a welding degree. Ellen enjoyed learning the Hindu lifestyle. She was very caring and giving to her family.
