Did your vote count in the 2nd District?

I found myself wondering Nov. 3 if my vote was counted. Could I have made a small mistake or by some other unknown error invalidated my ballot? Yes! Now what if I was serving my country in a distant land and heard that my vote was not counted because of a procedural rule in my home county in Iowa? For more than a couple dozen of those in the armed forces or living abroad, this is the case. After a confusing partial recount in a 'hurry up and get it done” fashion, overseas, military, and some domestic ballots were ignored.

It is disappointing that voter intent does not seem to matter to Mariannette Miller-Meeks as many of our votes were not counted in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District in the contest. Dr. Miller-Meeks, in the latest of many counts using various means, appears to have received 6 more votes than Rita Hart. She was then certified the winner while thousands of votes still need a hand recount to determine an actual winner in our congressional district. A request before the U. S, House of Representatives to determine if and how all the votes should be counted is needed; for we are sure that some ballots were not treated correctly of fairly. Iowa does not need to go down in history as unable to count votes thoroughly and carefully.
