Skidmore, Jennette
Jennette Skidmore, 83, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Indianola, at the Westview Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, beginning at noon Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment will be at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by a sister, Jean Clemenson of Des Moines; two brothers, Gail (Anna) Stubbs of Indianola and Larry (Karen) Stubbs of Des Moines; five nephews; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Skidmore; sister, Evelyn Ann Hinkle; and brother-in-law, Don Hinkle.
Jennette was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Weldon, the daughter of Cecil and Lillian Brooks Stubbs. She was united in marriage to John Skidmore on Oct. 29, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa. John preceded her in death in 1998.
Jennette worked as a key punch operator for Rockwell Collins. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and working on the ancestry family tree. She will forever be remembered for her kind smile and her love for the Indianola Regular Baptist Church family.
A memorial fund has been established.
