Petersen, Margaret
Margaret Petersen, 88, of Lowden, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the De Witt Community Hospital. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Friday at Zion United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Barbara Muhs. Burial: Lowden Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Arrangements are with Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister.
Born June 26, 1921, in Oxford Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Buresh) Leslie, she married Raymond Petersen on Oct. 31, 1951, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died in 2005. Margaret attended Oxford Junction schools and Paris Academy of Beauty in Cedar Rapids. She operated Margaret's Beauty Shop in Lowden from 1952 until retirement in 2005. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and American Legion Auxiliary in Lowden.
