Chauncey "Pete" Petersen, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the Anamosa Care Center. A celebration of life gathering will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with private family inurnment in the Czech National Cemetery Columbarium.
Chauncey was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Humboldt, the son of Otto A. and Eileen (Beebe) Petersen. Pete graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Class of 1950. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Chauncey was united in marriage to Joyce Doggett on May 28, 1954, in Des Moines. They were later divorced. Pete worked as a banker in the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids area for many years. He retired from Collins Community Credit Union in 1997. He was united in marriage to Linda Jackson on July 7, 1981, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua. Pete enjoyed golfing, bowling, baseball, softball, traveling and spending time with his family.
Pete is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Lisa (Rick) Hines of Spring Valley, Calif.; son, Mike (Peggy) Petersen of St. Charles; stepson, Brad Jackson of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Katie (Mike) Simpson, Dan Hines, Jake Petersen and Nick Petersen; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Blake and Hadley Simpson, Connor and Logan Hines; former wife, Joyce Doggett of Des Moines; his sister, Vernette Gardner of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; half brothers, Edward Rohn and Eugene (Linda) Rohn; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents and his half brother, Gary Rohn.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Anamosa Care Center and to Above and Beyond Hospice for their loving care of Pete.
