Sanford, Rhoda Ann

Rhoda Ann Sanford, 88, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Lincoln and Beatrice, Neb., died Aug. 15, 2011, in Scottsdale. Funeral services: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th St., Lincoln, Neb. Burial: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with family greeting friends: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born in Newhall, Iowa on July 26, 1923, to Henry and Norma (Rogers) Weichman. Rhoda was a former employee with Board of Public Works and former owner with her husband Lee of Sanford Oil Co., both in Beatrice. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Beatrice.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Linda Sanford, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Roger and Corey Sanford, Southlake, Texas; and Cheri Sanford, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brendan Sanford, Brittany Sanford, Brooke Sanford, Melissa Sanford, Scott and Cassandra Sanford, Kristie Sanford, Bob Shank and Michelle Bruck; and great-grandchildren, Madison Sanford, Mallory Sanford and Elizabeth Sanford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Verne Sanford; and brothers, Jim and John Weichman.
