Dead animals need proper disposal

To the editor:
Three weeks ago I noticed a dead raccoon on Center Point Road while going to work. On Aug. 21 I noticed it was still there, but it was flatter than the road. Also on my way to work I see there are other animals that have not been picked up that have been run over.
With all the money being spent on road construction and the money spent on 'sharing the road” where is the compassion for animals being hit by cars? Are we not caring enough to pick them up off the streets any more?
