Shirley (Chapman) Fell was born June 21, 1928, to Albert and Flora (Wilke) Chapman, in Tipton. She attended and graduated from Tipton High School in 1946. Shirley was united in marriage to the late, Raymond (Skip) Fell, on Jan. 26, 1947. They were blessed to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary shortly before his passing in 2002.
Shirley loved raising her family of four children they were blessed with. She also loved helping on the farm and her friends and relatives. She had a great appreciation for and bond with the local farm families in their farming community. Shirley later became a C.N.A. for Cedar County and liked to work with the needy.
Family was Shirley's heart and greatest joy. She took great pride in her husband and her two sons service to their country. She also was active in her children's school activities. Camping and fishing with her family and watching her grand-daughters grow filled her heart with joy.
Shirley was a member of Silver Star Circle of Kings Daughters for more than 55 years. She also was a current member of the Calvary Foursquare Church.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Vicki Frazier of San Clemente, Calif., and Nancy (Kenny) Stewart of San Diego; sons, James (Sharon) Fell of Anamosa and Michael (Larraine Foster) Fell of Tipton; five granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and all of her beloved grand dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Maurine Peck; and brother, Rusell Chapman.
